I just got a white gold crown and wanted a yellow gold crown. The dentist says the difference in cost is about $250. Is that reasonable? I thought white gold was actually more expensive than yellow for most applications.

Hi, My beautiful 18K yellow gold ring has been accidentially plated with rhodium. The ring has two diamonds and a ruby. Is there a process that could be done to the ring to remove the rhodium and bring back the yellow color? I know that rhodium resists higher temperatures than gold, and there is no acid that will make only rhodium react without affecting the gold. Thank you!

Hello - I have yet to get this ring appraised but I want to transfer the diamond (if possible) from the yellow gold ring to a white gold ring. Would the yellow gold have any trade-in value to the white gold ring? Can they even transfer the diamond? I'm obviously clueless when it comes to jewelry. This is for an engagement ring.

I'm trying to stage my bedroom without spending a fortune. My walls were a fairly pale balanced (neither too warm nor too cool yellow) and I bought a pretty intense golden sheet set for my bed and gold curtains online... the curtains were supposed to be more like ivory with a little gold in the print, but what I got was a deep old gold and they darken the room a bit more than I'd like. I'm on a time crunch and can't send them back now... they're up and they look fine. The floor is oak hardwood, more golden color, lol. Also between the curtains and the sheets and my deep gold lampshade I've got a lot of feminine pattern going on in the room. So, I need to buy a bedspread today and it needs to be fairly solid in color without a lot of pattern. I was thinking of getting something in ivory that has a sheen to it because the room looks pretty formal so a plain cotton one wouldn't look right. But I'd rather add another cool color to the room, like a pale aqua or something... trouble is I can't envision it. I need to go light or pale because the curtains, floor and oak trim in the room are really darkening it. The green suggestion is actually kind of funny because originally I painted the walls that color in the first place to go with a quilt my Grandma made me. It is deep green, white and golden. But now the quilt looks shabby in the room with all the rich textures, and the pattern is too busy, lol.

I have an olive complexion, and I find that yellow gold is more flattering to my skin tone than white gold or platinum. However, when shopping for an engagement ring, I'm finding that high-end stores carry mostly platinum & white gold and don't carry many yellow gold rings. Is there a reason to NOT get a yellow gold engagement ring, besides taste? Like-- is yellow gold significantly less durable?
